Marcus will brush them off but inside he feels warm and itchy for more.

Ellis - Can always tell when he's made someone feel good. His wolf will puff up with pride as their scent changes and their body language opens up. He prefers to give them, but they're nice to receive.

What does your MC want their retirement to be like?

Ellis has a crazy idea that one day he could leave Jo running his business. Crazy, because right now he's struggling to coax her into the building. She'll do the odd job for him, but getting her into an office is proving a lot harder than he imagined.
Retirement would be the contentment of having a ragtag, homemade pack in his den. Maybe not everyone would live there, but the door would always be open.

The status quo in my world does not tend to support marginalised groups of people.
Two of my MCs are gay men and one is a pansexual wolf shifter. They are kinksters in a poly relationship.
Marcus owns a bdsm club. Ellis's business is above board now (mostly) but it wasn't always that way.

My MCs have glanced over at the status quo, rolled their eyes and proceeded to stamp all over it.

#WritingWonders What is your favourite stage of writing a story? Why?

I love the initial awakening of a character. Mulling over who they are, what they like, fear, hate, who hurt them, who will they fall into love/lust with.
The initial few chapters are easy - if horribly messy - then things begin to coalesce into something coherent. Hopefully by the end I have a story that is sexy, with some drama and heartbreak.
Why? Because I'm a dreamer.

#WritingWonders Day 26: Does your book pass the Bechdel Test?

Not so far. I'm only 10 chapters in and it's an #MMMRomance so I have 3 males pov. Not much of a female presence as yet and not likely to have more than one or two in more than a very minor sc way.
The only female character interaction so far is a passive aggressive bar manager, but that was a conversation with one of my MCs.

Gonna fail the test.

It's set in a fictional British city. Think smallish and fairly liberal, but with the usual bullshit of big government breathing down its neck. The current mayor is a left leaning advocate for the marginalised.
I imagine Stratton to be edged in forest and arable lands, so I do have an element of rural. My city shifters still need a place to run.

I've only just started pantsing this story and nothing has been decided yet. There are a few threads for me to tug, so it's a definite maybe on this one.
I do have a lone wolf MC with a dark past, now ostracized from his pack. Another MC who is hiding from something/someone.
There's a dynamic building between my three MCs and with that will come revelations.

It's a queer, poly hurt/comfort romance. Shifters live alongside humans, somewhat amicably, occasionally intimately.
It's high steam and brimming with kink.

My newest WIP is still in its infancy. So far, I have an alpha wolf shifter rejected by his pack, a kink club owning switch who has never found where he fits in, and a sweet and secretive submissive who doesn't know how to say no.
