I discovered the #ShinigamiEyes extension today. The idea seems nice, but it has so many issues:
- it wants access to all (?!) websites
- the extension was updated a month ago, but its Github got no new commits in the past 1.5 years
- some reports say its algorithm for hashing URLs is prone to many collisions (https://github.com/shinigami-eyes/shinigami-eyes/issues/60)
- the author didn't respond to a GDPR request from Norwegian authorities (https://github.com/shinigami-eyes/shinigami-eyes/issues/79)

Are there any trusted alternatives that solve these issues?

Question : is there an equivalent to #shinigamiEyes on #tuskyApp, or some other mastodon Android app?

Sometimes I see someone posting a clear anti-terf or trans-rights message, and wonder why their aren't already green, and go looking for the menu to declare them as allies, before remembering I'm on my phone...

Plus sometime I want to boost or follow people I don't really know, and wonder if they end being transphobes, I wouldn't want to add workload to my instance mods by pulling them into our federated timeline.

Any ideas? (other than going back to accessing mastodon directly from Firefox even on my phone, which is not ideal for several reasons)

Also, quick public service announcement, if you're on #wikipedia and want to know about editor bias on #trans related articles, get #ShinigamiEyes, it's hilarious and informative. A lot of editors who are consistently #antitrans show up red, none of them surprisingly, it's just nice to be vindicated. However, I say that as an editor with lots of experience editing the topic area. If you aren't already knowledgeable about wiki-politics, it's a great tool for helping analysis. If an article feels like it was written by transphobes, you can check which editors have contributed most, and you'll probably be right.

If anyone involved with ShinigamiEyes sees this, I recommend Wikipedia authorship pages be updated to include trans -friendly and -antagonistic markers. For example, see this page, where the markers are only visible when you navigate to the editor's user page
