There's enough #fediverse instance moderator and admin drama that it's low hanging fruit for a pair of fame seeking #shitposters to cohost an unmissable weekly #podcast covering who is feuding with who and maybe reality check some egos.

This used to be what #journalism did with current affairs before too many journalists rationalised becoming a kind of lube for converting internet attention with advertiser clicks on a ten thousand different websites owned by less than 100 people.

It's never resonated with me. A paltry character count limit. Even in the #Fediverse those platforms having such restrictions are generally at least 60% #shitposters because there's so little you can do with them except convey just the notion of a single thought, and very constricting to have any real sort of actual conversation.

Also, a #Shitposter on the birdhouse is not the same thing as a #Shitposter here. Over there, they're the smartasses, bored/drunk housewives, etc who post nothing but snarky memes, bad jokes, horrible puns, etc. (♥️ y'all!) Over here, it's the radical right.

It took me a few days after arrival (I'm a #TwitterRefugee, too) to grok the gestalt of #Hashtags here. It really does make it easier to connect with people interested in a particular topic. Found quite a few #Bass players, #Cannabis enthusiasts, #Cat people, #Shitposters, #Poetry people, etc.

Click on a hashtag (ANY hashtag) you like, and explore. Follow who you want to. You can always unfollow. You can block words and phrases.
