I do love sourdough bread, so much. But shokupan is just such a tasty treat.

It's a million times over more work than a sourdough, but it's a beautiful carb-filled cloud.

Gonna enjoy this with some chicken salad for dinner and as a fruit sando for dessert.

Bread update! Set the oven a little too high so it's too brown on top and undercooked in the middle. Still came out delicious.
