Interestingly, much of her music at this time centered around America - Glad I'm not a Kennedy, Soviet Snow, America, American Friends. Guess it reflected her soured deal with Atlantic Records.
Fans of 80s electronica, synthwave and darker italo-pop take note: this 1984 album by New Zealand's Shona Laing (of 'Soviet Snow' fame) has some real gems on it. I liked 'America' and loved 'Metropolitan Moonlight' (which is AS GOOD as that sounds.) Very nice omnipointy album art too. Words are weapons, sharper than knives, as another antipodean singer mentioned at one point...
