What’s the best way to read *and* write CSV tables using the #Shortcuts app?
I’m using the “Split Text” to read them. But to get rows and columns separately, it requires quite some for each loops hacks.
For writing I‘m using Numbers to add it to a table. Though Numbers’ actions only allow to add to existing tables/files. Also it’s not a CSV then.
Maybe I’m missing some suitable system action? Or is there a cool (free) app that can help with that? #Help #AppleShortcuts

I consider myself a reasonably smart guy. I’m not an idiot. I’ve used computers for a long time.
I have never been able to get the #Shortcuts app to do what I want with the Share Sheet.
Did I share an “Article”? A “Safari web page”? A “URL”? “Text”? It’s impossible to know.
All I want to do is share a #Markdown-formatted link to the thing I’m sharing, no matter where I’m sharing it from. That should not be difficult.

Time to finish off this week's #StreamDeck #Shortcuts update! Then I get to sleep! 👀
#Shortcuts in the #Apple ecosystem are so powerful and cool. It’s a shame setting them up is such a pain. Still, loving my automation that after every morning alarm checks whether I’m at home and if so first gently tilts open my blinds and if I hit a snooze, it waits until the snooze period is done and then it opens the blinds fully, to wake me up with blinding sunrise.

Hey Michael, I’m a little late to the party, but wanted to let you know that @zenitizer also has interactive widgets now (and always had extensive App Shortcuts support since launch because… I'm a #Shortcuts nerd myself 🤓).
I also adopted the new APIs to make the App Shortcuts show up nicely and play well with Spotlight. If you're curious to try it out, here's a TestFlight link: https://testflight.apple.com/join/QvKyRJ8x
I also have a demo video showing the features 🍿👇
Enjoy a faster Vivaldi after a massive #code refactoring 🎉
Our new version on #desktop is now faster, especially when you open a new window⚡️
By rendering browser windows through React portals, we’ve reduced #memory usage, and significantly improved overall #performance.
Whether you use #Shortcuts, Menus, or Quick Commands, the portal-aware functionality ensures a noticeable increase in #speed when opening a new window 🏃

On the way to learn #shortcuts I wrote simple tool to remind me to switch off printer and RasPi used during day, before I go to bed. It use #a-shell app to execute ping to check is host active. As a bonus I hear which hosts re running 😉
When you're working in DEVONthink To Go, there are likely items you keep returning to. To let you quickly access your most important items in DEVONthink To Go from anywhere on your device without laborious navigating, we've created a shortcut. Here is, how it works. #devonthink #devonthinktogo #shortcuts #pkm #productivity https://www.devontechnologies.com/blog/20230822-quickly-launch-devonthink-to-go?utm_content=buffer40af8&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer

I’ve been playing with an NFC tag in my hall linked to an #iOS #Shortcuts sequence that (among other things):
* Starts/stops Travel Focus, but not if Fitness Focus is active.
* Tells me on my way out if I've left a window open.
* Turns my bedroom lights on when it’s late in the evening (after choir, also play some ambient music to calm my brain).
Do I need this? No, it's a toy. Am I inordinately pleased with myself for setting it up? Yes.
(My #ShortcutsApp is full of this kind of thing.)
anyone figured out a way to do Mac OS shortcut app to auto translate a website? or at least translate it with a keyboard combination?

I’m pretty sure it’s new that watchOS-only apps can now enable shortcuts to the shortcuts app without having an iOS companion app 😍✨
Wenn man keine smarte Waage hat, dann kann man über Apples Kurzbefehle auch das Gewicht ganz easy über die #AppleWatch eintragen.
Danke nochmal an @hosi1709 für die Idee!

Hey y'all, a #Shortcuts question: I'd like to have a one-click automation (a “Like” button) that adds the playing song to my #AppleMusic library. The thing is that I can't find anything related to the "Add to Library” in the Media actions list. There's one to add to a playlist, but nothing related to adding a piece of music to my library. Am I missing something? Should I go the AppleScript way for such a simple thing? Or is there a nice Apple Music macOS companion app out there? Many thanks 🎶
People really underestimate just how useful automatons are on iOS.
I have a MagSafe charger that screeches a little even when nothing is connected to it. My girlfriend finds it pretty annoying because she can hear it when trying to sleep.
So I created an automation, triggered by me going to sleep, that disconnects power from the charger so it’s quiet. And another automation that turns it back on when I wake up.
#iPadOS: I should know better than to leave tabs open in Safari. Was clearing down this morning and Safari crashed. Tab groups remained intact, but tabs in the default space were lost. Started browsing back through History Book and Surfed, but they weren't that useful in this case. Then I remembered that I have an overnight #Shortcuts #appleshortcuts automation running that backs up a list of open tabs to @drafts. Win.

Wow! Thanks, Erik and contributors :D
In fact, I even tried to blog around this concept in this post

Trying to use #Shortcuts on #macOS to rename a bunch of images based on the text extracted from them — only to get this completely ridiculous privacy prompt.
Had to activate Exposé to even tell there was text let alone buttons on it. The blank section fully covered my 27" display.
