I spotted a wonderfully rich patch of waxcaps and coral fungi at my local nature reserve recently and was glad to share this with an ecologist friend who had a lot of involvement in setting it up. He was as delighted as I and promptly asked the county recorder to do a survey - we found at least 12 different species which is a fantastic result for unimproved grassland and shows the merits of the work being done there.
