Strange "Southern Cross Station" destination listed on the temporary bus stop flag on a'Beckett Street near William Street. No metropolitan buses have this as a terminus.
Anyone know what's going on here, or is this yet another error?

A lot of PTV passenger information either hasn't improved at all or has become worse recently.
Latest example - the official website showing the Upfield Line on an impossible route

Route 42 was abolished almost 30 years ago, yet it's still showing up on Tramtracker screens

PTV has messed up disruption information yet again. This time for the various CBD bus routes coming from the western suburbs.
For a start, the online disruptions webpage contains way too much information in one go. As with many other examples, it's not well formatted and confusing: https://www.ptv.vic.gov.au/disruptions/disruptions-information/article/routes-216-220-232-234-235-236-and-237-temporary-bus-stop-closure-from-wednesday-11-january-to-wednesday-5-april-2023
The main thing though is the on site signage. The first photo is at the temporary bus stop on Market Street. It's obviously no longer in operation but nobody has come to remove the signs or update the online information. Some poor bus driver has had to write on the sign themselves to clarify things!
Then there are severl similar issues around the city, like the Southern Cross Station bus stop being clearly signed as "not in use" but has been used by buses for at least a few days.
Yet again, this kind of thing really puts people off using public transport and is easy to fix.

Marketing effort at making an advertisement in the style of a schematic transport map.
Doesn't work very well IMHO.

As a passenger, you might want to know which trains depart from these platforms at Southern Cross Station because multiple lines service these platforms.
Unfortunately these screens only show the immediately next train, and none of the ones departing later.
Not very helpful.

30 minute delay now. Opportunity for a bit of a mini rant in my ongoing series about poor passenger information from #PTV and #MetroTrains
While the platform announcements are good, the on-board announcements are incomprehensible or absent.
Platform screens are useless as they just show "stand clear train departing".

My post from earlier this week on maps, bus stops and the need for good transport information - even in the digital age: https://philipmallis.com/blog/2023/01/31/removing-maps-from-bus-stops-and-the-digital-divide/

More bad travel information for passengers from #MetroTrains and #PTV tonight at Flinders Street Station.
The screen on the left shows a random train to Hawksburn when all trains are being replaced by buses.
The screen on the right has multiple problems. Not only does it show incorrect colours for trains & directions, it also claims that no trains run to Richmond from Flinders Street or the City Loop.
People rely on these boards, maps and screens to make quick decisions about where to go. It's vital that they show accurate and timely information.

'Glen Waverley' misspelled on a PTV sign (and not the first time either)

Sign showing public transport arrangements for New Year's Eve 2023 in Melbourne. This seems sub-optimal.
There are large gaps between tram routes in the CBD. In particular, St Kilda Road trams are only operating up to Domain and Melbourne Central. They should at least run up to the Arts Centre from the south.
There are also some oddities, omissions and minor errors on what is otherwise a pretty good passenger information sign.
For example, Flinders St Station is marked as being serviced by metropolitan buses (it isn't), and there is no information on this sign about any services other than trams.
