This one is an especially moving piece for me. #Louisiana is my home state. I grew up in #Shreveport, just rock-throwing distance from the Texas border. I was a teen during the big oil bust of the 1980's. I didn't know, for the longest time, that anybody had bothered to write songs about our state. Randy Newman brings such gravitas to this tale of the Great Flood of 1927.
