A couple of buzzards flying high, enjoying the thermals over Corvedale in the Shropshire Hills.
Quite high up, so probably at the limit of the 200mm lens, and heavily cropped!

Higher altitudes, and differing rock types/exposure levels can facilitate the growth of distinct lichens and mosses from those found in low country and woodland environments. These lichens were seen on an upland ridge at #TheLawley in #ShropshireHillsAONB #UK today. Silvery pale acid greens and silver tones may be a defensive strategy to mitigate the effects of high winds and exposure to sunlight. #LichenSubscribe

Got a bit obsessed with these lichen and moss covered dry stone walls near #CaerCaradoc today. The green of the moss and copper oxide colour of the lichen looks amazing with the pinky-orange of the partially decomposed pine needles and bracken.
