So ein Shunt wird operativ angelegt und ein Patient der unter chronischem Nierenversagen leidet wird, über einen solchen 'Anschluss', an die Dialysemaschine angeschlossen.

I’ve been getting splitting migraines all day today, this one is the third. They have all been emanating from my shunt (behind my right ear) and/or my left eye.

This is pretty normal for me, but I’d like some advice on what to help ease my pain.

During this time one of the weird side effects I developed was sudden adult-onset central heterochromia -- that is, my eyes changed color. So strange. (These are both me. My eyes were solid dark brown until about age 28.) The color change is permanent. My vision is back to normal.
