We've just received an FOI response from the Home Office which shows that zero pregnant women have been detained in #LarneHouse in the last six months. The #IllegalMigrationBill changes detention rules & could mean that women are detained right up until birth with no time limits.

New FOI data in on the 8 pregnant women who were detained in Larne House between 2016 and 2022. Some of the women were detained for two days in Larne House - cut off from GPs, maternity care and the NHS. Royal College of Midwives call for an outright ban on detaining pregnant women. So do we.

Through FOI, we discovered that 8 pregnant women had been detained in Larne House from 2016 - present. Repoductive Justice groups; Faith Voices for Reproductive Justice, Alliance for Choice and Alliance for Choice Derry ran a campaign to end detention of pregnant people, implement ATDs and #ShutDownLarneHouse.

The campaign was endorsed by individuals and groups across civic society, 9 NI MPs, 44 Cllrs and 45 MLAs.

➡️New FOI data in. Students from Algeria, Bangladesh, China, India, Nepal and Pakistan have been detained within the last two years in Larne House Immigration Detention Centre in N.Ireland.

There is no form of immigration detention that doesn't cause harm. #ShutDownlarneHouse
