Been thinking about possibility of setting up #Mastodon in regions subject to frequent #shutdowns and network filtering. Running local servers so people can stay in touch with the outside world. If the global internet is blocked you still have local servers. It’s not perfect (nothing is!) and everything would be unencrypted and more or less public, but it would be light amidst the darkness of a network disruption.
