Kind of has a Jon Wick cinematography feel to it. Brolin is in it,but I can't get Thanos out of my mind when I hear him. There was a third movie that was in production before the strike happened.

Last, but certainly not least, I'd like to give a shoutout to the late great #JóhannJóhannsson for the haunting score.
What is it about Icelandic "composers who also score movies" (his words, not mine)? In Sicario he brought on his countrywoman, cello soloist #HildurGuðnadóttir, who went on to compose the sequel, #SicarioDayOfTheSoldado, #Chernoble and the Oscar winning score for #Joker.

What Can I say about Cinematographer Roger Deakins? His vision of the American west was a throwback to the days of Sergio Leone's spaghetti westerns.
The lush backdrops of Sicario are reminiscent of his work in #NoCountryForOldMen #TrueGrit and #InTheValleyOfElah. Directors get most of the credit, but Cinematographers capture the vision.

How did this movie not win every award? (answer: shocking violence). From the very first scene it smashes you in the gut and keeps throwing haymakers until the credits roll.

I don't know how many times I've seen #Sicario 1, but it always sends shivers down my spine. The #thriller is one of the exceptions that all is not lost in #Hollywood after all.
I think #NightsblackAgents (#DeltaGreen? ) can create a comparable feeling at the gaming table. If you like bleak drug/crime movies, (re)watch it.
The #ttrpg are also worth a try!

Le film est bien à tout niveau avec une intrigue moins surprenante que le 1er et surtout moins immersif (en ce qui me concerne). D’ailleurs je ne comprends pas les critiques trouvant que Sollima donne « une leçon de mise en scène » à Villeneuve.

Been working my way through the works of one of the greatest film directors working today - #DenisVilleneuve. I’ve seen the major Hollywood works like #Dune, #BladeRunner2049, #Arrival, and #Sicario, as well as his smaller films like #Prisoners, and even his lesser known films like #Enemy and even #Polytechnique… but today I watched #Incendies… and… uhh… Jesus Christ. What a fucked-up yet powerful condemnation of the horrors that war creates not only directly, but so often just in its wake.
