When your side quest goes slightly off the rails and spawns more side quests...
It started when I stopped at Amberson's to get their latest #GenCon themed drink, the black lotus, inspired by Magic the gathering.
But then my car battery inexplicably died, and my charger was also dead. (Did I get hit with an EMP,)
When I finally made it diwntown, I realized my delay was so that I
could rescue a cicada which was really on its way to being squished.

So far, I quite like what I see. Hopefully, the game tells an interesting story, more than a bag full of #sidequests. The #fantasy #crpg felt that way and lost me.
I prefer #PS5 over #XBox. Anyway, maybe I'll get one?!

I’ll probably use the extra time to develop more alternate #sidequests , tying to PC backstories for our new campaign. (This is our 1st try at #CriticalRole ‘s #CallOfTheNetherdeep , but none of the players know that.)
Does anyone else “railroad” campaigns using a few (limited) parallel story tracks? As a new #DM, I work from modules, but really want to give #ttrpg players agency with story hooks and #homebrew that they find interesting.
