Now my wife is sick. She blames me. But she tells me we must move soon. She is out on her moto looking for apartments. There are a few districts which we want to live in. Close to the river and markets. Food and coffee. So today I find more flowers to make her smile. She tells me I’m a good boy. Moving will make her happy. She has been feeling bad here for a little time. My primary goal is her happiness.

Have had a bad head cold. Wife would not let me walk. Finally today got to head out with her blessing. Beautiful day out to just go. No destination in site. No direction. The steps manage themselves.

Head Cold Thursday. Not feeling much better so I turn to the blog. Memories of writing, going, being. Hanoi so many times tilts the memory wheel. Or walking Da Nang's riverwalk on a night in 2018. Preparing to go see the new bridge in BaNa Hills. Snapping forward to 2023 and coming to Cambodia. So many things but the blog deals with it better.

Back to home cooked food. My wife finds a recipe for baked stuffed potatoes. Stuffed with cheese and ham. Cooked in oven until done. Then I eat. No traditional Cambodian bbq grill tonight.

Yeah. She can cook. Maybe one day Khmer food.

I love it when my wife and I decide to change things up. Go to Koh Kong next week? No. We go day after tomorrow. Rent another apartment because this one too small? No. We will save money for a bit and get a house. It is all possible when I have her. When she smiles and teases and gives me that wonderful look. So change is good I think. Especially today.

Sometimes when I decide to go walk, I look at google maps first. There is this road or that side street. Today though I ignore all that. In minutes I pack it in and walk out the door of the apartment and into a land of mystery and unknown. this land. this kingdom of wonder. I don't know I will make it to any Angkor Wat temples today but here ya go.

The old and new. Years ago I lived down Sok San Road in Siem Reap. I would stop almost nightly at the Red Piano bar. There is one still open on Pub Street. This one was more intimate and I liked the clientele and the wonderful Khmer people that worked there.

There’s always new too. The second place looks like fun. Not far from the shuttered Red Piano. Maybe Alin and I will go there sometime.
