On the north east over the summit, we saw the #SnowMelt.
Flat regions near Ridgecrest had mostly still water that reflected distant peaks.
The West Walker River meandered with snowmelt, and after joining with other tributary creeks, grew to a full and rapid-running river heading down to Topaz Lake at border of California and Nevada.

Glad for a road trip where we could see remaining snows from all those #AtmosphericRiver storms this year.
Eastern slope of the #SierraNevada mountains.
🗺📍This is on US 395 btwn Bishop and Mammoth Lakes turnoff on
Friday May 19, driving north to #UNReno for #2023Commencement.
Not long after this we continued climbing in the #Sierras, at 7000 feet we saw snow drifts on the ground in either side of the road. Max elevation we drove was 8143 feet.

Possibly the best photo ever that I have taken (aside from the mountain goats) while #backpacking. Rolled out of the tent around 6 a.m. one 2015 morning in the #Sierras and caught some morning alpenglow, and a cloud shadow. One of the Nydiver Lakes in the foreground.
