Now that we're more than a week past SIGGRAPH, and I know for a fact that several people who tested positive were at a crowded BOF on Thursday, unmasked, I'm curious what percentage of #SIGGRAPH attendees tested positive for #Covid and how many played the role of Covid Larry (get it?) at their studio.

Friendly reminder (or in case you are not aware), I maintain a massive #BibTeX/#BibLaTeX file with #rendering-related references. It includes all the work I've ever cited in my own papers, all recent #SIGGRAPH, #EG, and #EGSR papers, and more (some 4000 and counting). I add to it regularly.

What #SIGGRAPH really needs is a battle deck/"PowerPoint karaoke" session. Presenters from any track submit slide deck into a random pool, get up on stage in the biggest hall, pull random deck from the pool, present on the spot in one half or one quarter the normal time.

I was a "SIGGRAPH Pioneer" for several yrs before I ended my membership

Approx 10 yrs ago, during the 1st major attempt to establish a VFX union, I sent an email to the president of SIGGRAPH. I stated since many VFX practitioners were being unfairly treated, I thought it would be beneficial for the SIGGRAPH organization to help with the unionization effort... since these are the same people SIGGRAPH encompasses. I was informed it wasn't the mission of #SIGGRAPH.
