The Pinkston Basin in the North of Glasgow. At one time this formed the junction between the Forth and Clyde Canal (completed 1792) and the Monkland Canal (completed in 1794). The Monkland Canal has now mostly been filled in and replaced by the M8 motorway.

The Sighthill Bridge linking Sighthill and Townhead across the M8 in Glasgow or, as it has inevitably been nicknamed, the Rusty Bridge.
Today was the first time I'd visited it, and I have to say I love everything about it, even down to the colour, which was positively glowing the sunshine.

The Sighthill Stone Circle in Glasgow.
Created by Duncan Lunan in the 1970s on the site of a former chemical factory, this is thought to be the first astronomically-aligned stone circle created in over three thousand years. It was moved to a new site in the late 2010s, but it was correctly re-aligned when it was re-built.

A Draped urn on the top of a gravestone in Sighthill Cemetery, Glasgow.
Urns (based on those of ancient greek and Roman ones) became a popular addition to gavestones in Scotland in the 1800s, probably in parallell with the a wideapread interest in ancient cultures and the development of the neoclassical architectural style favoured by the likes of Alexamder Greek Thomson.
