This is an interesting initiative. As long as they aren’t merely talking shops and they can actually influence local decisions, they could make a huge difference for visually impaired people.

I have tried to update my profile. Sorry for the typos but (a) I can't save edits on Fosstodon and (b)!on mastodon the edit screen allows for not quite two lines of text about 40 characters long. I assume that's not how the intended interfaces are supposed to be, but due to #SightLoss that is how I need it to be

Since #Microsoft announced the demise of #SoundScape I’ve been trying to use it less often to prepare myself for when it disappears altogether. It’s such a shame as it is the best orientation aid for the visually impaired I’ve found. And, so far, there’s no sign of any developer using the code to create a replacement. I fear we are going to lose this most useful of tools.

I see Aira have now produced a list of their prices for both full retail & individual offset. That’s great, but I do hope that the UK price for their Gold 2 Star plan is wrong. Who can afford £1,660 per month?

Seriously, even at £ 166 pm, that’s more than double the equivalent Standard plan I’m currently on. I expected a price rise, but that’s a huge hike.
