142 followers · 2876 posts · Server mindly.socialIs this just me? For the last couple of days, if I visit a link to a Twitter profile/page/whatever, it refuses to let me see it, prompting me to sign in. If I close the login widget, it redirects to the front page.
For a site having trouble attracting advertisers and keeping users, it seems odd to completely block everyone who isn't already a signed-in account holder.

I’m assuming this is cuz of the influx of people who are coming to mastodon (like me) so, I can wait & try later but if anyone has any pointers on how to log in on the computer - it would be much appreciated ☺️ #suggestions #mastodonhelp #signin #desktop #browser

An end of Gmail on external email clients like Thunderbird is near, when they send you sthg. like this:
"To help keep your account secure, Google will no longer support the use of third-party apps or devices which ask you to sign in to your Google Account using only your username and password. Instead, you’ll need to sign in using Sign in with Google."
Well, "perfect". One bloated way to get rid of the last bit of Google code in private communication ;)
