the new sign up process is a good idea. but it needs to be fair and random. anything in general.

instead of waiting on that changing, there might be something we can all do now.

im not sure how easy it would be for them, but if there is an app you like please send them a message and ask them about adding their own sign up screens for new users.

if we can get enough apps to do that maybe it could make a difference.

Saw @gargron defending making mastodon.social the #default #signup server for #Mastodon: "To make this step easier, we now have a default sign-up option that works with a server we operate. If you wish to leave or join a different server, you can do so at any time."

Can't help but to say this is a sad, disappointing lack of #integrity, embedded into a blog post filled with #corporate #speech bubbles. No longer convinced that there isn't a hidden agenda at work here :(
