Spent many nights of the early 1990s in tiny places with loud bands like Silverfish.

Seeing Barbie everywhere reminds me that Silverfish's 'Big Bad Baby Pig Squeal' would have been a great theme tune for it.

This is a silverfish IN SPACE.

Just kidding. This is a silverfish that drowned in a bowl of water on my balcony, and then I took a picture of its sad, floating body. You can distinctly see its three ass antennae. (I know they're not called that, but I remember someone once describing them that way, and it made me laugh pretty hard. I've called them that ever since.)

A long time ago, I learned you can take weird, swimmy macro photos by putting a drop of water on the lens of your iPhone.

My discovery of this trick coincided with a fairly apocalyptic silverfish infestation, and this is a silverfish. (You can't see its THREE ASS ANTENNAE in this picture--undoubtedly the worst feature of the silverfish. But its TWO FACE ANTENNAE are bad enough.)

@Twelve @sotolf@fosstodon.org @lopeztel though I believe the #silverfish commonly found in Norway is the 'grey silverfish', which is also called the #skjeggkre: miserable beard (or bearded) creature.

Either way, the 'kre' (from 'krek') suffix for 'miserable creature' is apt, and I despise these pests...
