Apparently, #PDX mayor Bud Clark reviewed the original #SimCity for PC/Computing magazine sometime in 1990.
It doesn't seem like he was a fan of some of the less realistic elements, like the ability to build a nuclear power plant wherever you'd like.
I haven't found the actual review yet...

how come they started switching from full-height vertical interfaces to full-width horizontal at right around the time wider screens became mainstream? like, we got more horizontal real estate so now we must use more of the vertical?
or am i remembering this wrong?
