And suppose for the sake of argument that we did live in a #simulation, and that somehow, this could be shown to be the case. In what way would such knowledge meaningfully change anyone's life?

"Where do wasps fit into the simulation?" is, from here on out, my only response to anyone bringing up the simulation hypothesis.

There was a “former NASA scientist” who proposed a Kickstarter to test the #SimulationHypothesis. There were professors from various respected institutions and a peer-reviewed paper published describing the proposed experiment.

It’s 4+ later now with full funding and, to my knowledge, no experiments have been carried out. The linked websites have now got a lot of woo going on.

I didn’t give any money and I’m not qualified to judge the proposed experiment, but I am disappointed.

Distinctions between right and wrong might go down as far as primitives in the standard model (bad news for fascists) & probably comprise at most 3 basic principles which then fan out and encircle most of our observables.Question is do those 3 comprise enough variability to create appearances that appear self contradictory in the large? @darkfacade the Cosmic Microwave Background, other cosmological observations and the way the world works (GR and quantum entanglement) would need a quantum computer the size and complexity of the Universe to simulate.

There is not a "progressive enhancement" algorithm that can make experiments produce a consistent Physics.

The world in the classical limit might be simulatable, but not the real world.

Simulation "theories" are Theology, not science.
