Fascinating article about the #V TV series on #VanityFair. It was inspired by a book called #ItCantHappenHere by #SinclairLewis. In the book, written in 1935, ‘United States is torn apart by a flamboyant blowhard politician who uses fearmongering and empty promises to the working class to win election before consolidating his power, shattering the traditions of governance, breaking any laws that constrain him, and stoking paranoia and division.’.

@Forticus der #OttfriedPreussler hat ja auch echt viel für die dt #Fantasy getan, wobei nach Kl Hexe/Gespenst/Wassermann mich der spätere #Krabat mehr beeindruckt hat. Habe Preussler auch 1x getroffen als er in #Passau den Dt Fantasypreis des #EDFC bekam, aber nur kurz gesprochen. / Was hat dich von #JohnSinclair (nehme an du meintest weder #UptonSinclair noch #SinclairLewis) und SpaceOpera zur Fantasy im #pnpde und #projektmyra #Weltenbau zurückgebracht?
