Candlelit boiling hot foam bath 5am on a Sunday morning, and I've already done a load of laundry and put tonights dinner in the slow cooker

The house I want to buy just had a £20k reduction in the asking price. Only it's Grade II listed so the sensible half of my brain is saying walk the f*ck away at speed and look for something more sensible.

As I won't be here much longer it's time I totally went minimal.

Popped to the shop with my boys for a few things. Cashier says "you're giving mum some time off are you?"

No, shared custody means I'm their sole parent at weekends. But regardless of that they're my children and looking after them is as much my pleasure and responsibility as it is their mother's.

In front of the kids what can you do but silently seeth and pretend you didn't hear.
What I wanted to say was

I'm not "babysitting" or "playing mum" or any other such bullshit so stick your outdated ideals and assumptions up your hole!
