This week I am #singleparenting while the other half is across the world for work. Thankful to not be traveling (seriously, I’ve had it with airports and airplanes and people), but it means I get a week on my own with my #littleone. So far, so good.

What I’ve noticed: as a full-time working parent (whose work frequently has odd hours), I don’t know how #SingleParents actually do it. Huge respect to #singlemoms and #singledads who do this Every. Single. Day. I see you. You rock.

My daughters friends said I'm the best Dad. Not sure if that translates into being the worst / least strict. #singleparenting

I do not know why I’m surprised that my ex has not been giving me the kids medical bills that are for some reason in my name. Now I have a past due and that will go against my credit score. He’s such an 🤬

Today went much better than expected, though what a day it was. Fortunately, all was made right when I got to do something I NEVER do, I went out with friends after work. I have not done that since my last job and before the pandemic.

This trip to Starbucks during the first week of term is an indication that I am way behind and lost already. We’ve eaten out too much this week due to time constraints and work and school and appointments.

The greatest honor of my life is that I’m a #twinmom. I'm a solo parent, which is tough cards, but less hard than #singleparenting. #Sharedcustody has enabled me to thrive in #business, #travel, and maintain deep friendships. I get to be a mom and, on alternating weeks, be myself. It's amazing.

Single parenting can get me down.... like this evening when 2 friends couldn't make it to the Christmas lights switch kon, and my son is off with his friends (for whom I was taxi), and I'm all alone.

@jennybristol that's a big ? For me at the moment. Both have to do with letting social expectations bounce of of you vs. being the slave of everybody else's needs and wishes. And it has many layers. I can't always tell them apart. I feel that that's the biggest #intersectionality intersec. in my life. Together with the poverty that #singleparenting an autistic male(who wouldn't mask) kept me in.
