Single parents doing the job of two people usually by no fault of their own. Nobody has kids with someone to raise them by themselves. It’s hard work and if your kids happen to be neurodivergent then it’s even harder. If you’re on your own and you’re raising kids, in a perfect world you would have the help of your community but if you’re in a place where you don’t have family or relatives, you’re basically alone. So, when people want to judge other people’s parenting or their children’s behaviour, you need to remember to always be kind. For personal reasons it happens that this week I’m alone with the kids, while my wife is away and I just realised how hard #life is for #singleParents or #singleCarers.

I'm glad I didn't let that article about how boys raised by single moms turn out to be juvenile delinquents get to me back in the 1990s. Handed to me by the woman who was caring for my kids while I went to school to become a paralegal.. Handed to me smugly by a woman who was married and felt she was better than I am/was.. lit a fire under this ladies behind.. love to see what she'd think of us now. My son is a team lead at Apple.. 1ere saison de #SingleParents plutôt sympa, j'ai passé un moment agréable. Le fait que les personnages puissent se développer sur 23 épisodes est un vrai plus car une vraie famille de personnages se construit avec cette durée. J'ai fini par tous les aimer, enfants compris, alors

One thing I’m really going to miss from the other place were all the parents I found like me, going through the maze of #CAMHS (ok the nightmare) waiting for a diagnosis for their possibly #autistic #neurodiverse kid / mine’s a girl /so anyone out there in the same nightmare situation / v close to complete school refusal / I’m here for the chats.
