Finally got some decent flats for #siril to use during stacking. These were used for processing on Sharpless 115/116 emission nebulas that I targeted earlier this week with the 5 inch refractor, ASI2400MC camera, and the dual band filter.
Sh2-116 is the small round nebula.

Took these images of the Dumbell Nebula and Iris Nebula last night between the clouds. 10 minutes of 30s color exposures through a 8-inch Cassegrain. Processed in #siril. I was checking out my new config that enables me to point North with a fork mount, without smashing the camera into the scope. Seems to be working đ€·đŸââïž
This is another test photo I took the other night with the dual band filter, NGC 6888 the Crescent Nebula. For this shot I used #siril to separate out and put emphasis on the H-alpha data coming through the filter. Again, satisfactory results for only 30 minutes of exposures.

I was wondering if one could stack Moon photos in #siril, and yep it works. Here is the Moon on 7/23 taken at f/10 with the Celestron C11. I focused on the craters Catharina, Cyrillus and Theophilus and took 7 exposures and stacked them.
Finally got some clear skies and did about 2.5 hours of M82, the Cigar Galaxy earlier this week! I also solely used SiriL for the post processing and liked it quite a bit, though I feel like the gradient extraction wasn't quite as good as other applications. I'm wanting to find a work flow that integrates it with Photoshop as well when I make the move over to Monochrome imaging. #astrophotography #siril

La #photo à été prise au Canon 700D avec un objectif catadioptrique de 500mm ouvert à f/6.3 (image recadré), accumulation de 119 poses de 0.8s, ISO 3200. Traitement #Siril et #Gimp.
L'aspect oblong de Mars est dû à son déplacement assez rapide sur son orbite. Mars c'est en effet décalée de 22,5" d'arc par rapport aux étoiles durant les 15 minutes qu'a duré l'observation.

I use an unmodified DSLR for my #astrophotography so I miss a lot of red. Hereâs the #galaxy NGC 5033 using 120x120s exposures at ISO 200. After stacking I split the RGB channels in #Siril and processed each separately before recombining them to push the red a bit more.

Nach Monaten endlich mal wieder ein klarer Nachthimmel (und das bei akzeptabler Aussentemperatur). Ich habe weitere Belichtungszeit am Irisnebel gesammelt. Bin jetzt bei etwa 4,5h. Leider habe ich nicht gemerkt, dass ich die Kamera um 90° hĂ€tte drehen mĂŒssen, daher passten alte und neue Belichtungen nicht zusammen und ich musste leider croppen. Tonightâs astrophotography challenge was to target the Orion Nebula and Pleiades star cluster untracked with my Canon SL1, 55-250mm EF-S kit lens (fully zoomed to 250mm, f5.6), ISO 800. These are 150 x 1s photos stacked with #siril and processed with #gimp. I am still learning, and these photos are still noisy - but I am surprised what you can capture with a basic DSLR and #foss software.
Last night was the clearest night weâve had since I started doing #astrophotography in August. This was my first attempt at using âGeneralised Hyperbolic Stretch Transformationsâ in the latest Dev version in #SiriL. M81 & M82. I got as much of the âstarburstâ feature in M82 as I could with my unmodified Nikon D750.
