Few people know this, but #sixyearsago someone stole my bag when I was in the field.

My bag had all my #research. Laptop, notes, phone, external drive. I also had my prescription glasses, wallet (though I didn't lose everything because I never take all my cards with me), keys...

It was by far the worst day. I cried for a week. I was this close 👌🏽 of quitting my #PhD.

But I was also surrounded by amazing people that offered so much help and helped get on my feet. I went back to my field home to regroup and wrote the first chapter of the #dissertation. And I then I went out again, visited the place where I was robbed, and the rest is history.

(Before you come at me, yes, of course I had a cloud backup, but I was doing research faster than the internet connection could handle. This happens when you work in more remote areas).
