El síndrome de #Sjögren es una #EnfermedadAutoinmune que se banaliza como "molestia" por sequedad de ojos y boca. Pero ataca a las mucosas (pulmones...): puede provocar sequedad vaginal y diversos problemas derivados de ello (infecciones, dolor, atrofia vaginal...) que han de tratarse.

@Wolfie_Rankin, I don’t chew gum (even though it’s recommended for #Sjogrens patients to help with mouth dryness) for several reasons
- I have #TMJ issues
- I don’t like overly sweet things (the sugar free stuff is vile!)
- My Nana always told me chewing gum was unladylike, and made people look like cows chewing their cud.

My partner likes chewing gum. I have no issue with them liking it.

Lovely partner made an early run to the chemist this morning, so I’m now equipped with medication to help my upset tummy (seems to be helping) and yet another type of prescription eyedrops (oil based, this time, to be used in conjunction with the allergy drops and water based drops.)

So after a bad night last night,@today should be more comfortable. Phew!

May I say that finally buying some Burt's bees on an impulse was totally worth it? I've got chapped lips very easily (thanks #Sjögrens ) and they're definitely richer and less heavy than the labello white I was using, I don't feel as if I were putting fat on my mouth. Also, the peppermint one (the regular one of the four in the pack) is a surprise - pleasant but not overpowering.

Gotta tell mum about it, her lips are in worse shape than mine.

@ameliahanslow #Queensland, but swollen itchy eyes for weeks. The optometrist prescribed Patanol (olapatadine) eyedrops which have helped, in conjunction with my usual every couple of hours HyloForte drops, which help wash out and soothe dry eyes (I also have #Sjogrens).

Right, time to put the 3rd kind of eye drops in my eyes, and start the evening audiobook running. And then it's just my ordinary eye drops as I wake during the night.

Allergy season will pass soon.

Es un trastorno de la deglución (problemas para tragar líquidos, alimentos... incluso saliva). Según su origen, gravedad... necesita distinta intervención multidisciplinar.
Tengo síndrome de #Sjögren y he tenido temporadas muy malas. Ahora sé manejarla mejor. Ésta es mi experiencia.

You know you have #sjogrens when you always have a tiny $20 bottle of eyedrops in your pocket and think nothing of applying them mid conversation.

@bhflowers that’s a good Idea! I have #Sjogrens, which means my eyes are always very dry, and I usually manage it with eye drops throughout the day. A small humidifier might be the ticket, though.
