Police officers in Lincolnshire came to the rescue of a woman who had gone into the freezing cold Skegness sea in the middle of the night. Three men who made the emergency call were local asylum seekers and played a big part in helping to save the woman's life, police said. "[They] even stayed afterwards to help carry the kit of our waterlogged officers"

A wind turbine on Skegness Pier is generating electricity to light the pier at night. The most important thing, though, is this is a new design of turbine that could easily be fitted to other structures and bring wind power into residential areas.
