I went on a 'Sketch Crawl' led by Caroline Boyfield as part of the Skibbereen Arts Festival. I have not opened a sketchbook for months and don't often sketch 'plein air' so it was an interesting outing with a small group of people. Location here is behind Abbystrewery Church in Skibbereen.

An old postcard (unfortunately undated) that lampooned the service provided by the to Tramway. The journey from Skibbereen to Schull, of just over 15 miles, with stops at stations along the way, took in the region of 80 minutes. The tramway operated between 1886 and 1947.

The twelve arch viaduct at Ballydehob was constructed as part of the Skibbereen to Schull tramway. This rare image of it in use was taken by W.A. Camwell and appeared in the Railway Magazine of May 1940.

A shot of the interior of the old church at Creagh, located between Skibbereen and Baltimore in West Cork. It was built in 1810 and went out of use in the 1990s. This image was taken several years ago and sadly since then the building has deteriorated even further. Currently the windows are boarded up.

The Flight into Egypt, one part of the rose window in the Church of the Most Holy Rosary, Kilcoe, between Skibbereen and Ballydehob. Commissioned in 1943, it was designed by Terence Clarke of Harry Clarke Stained Glass Ltd.
