1 followers · 140 posts · Server fnlog.pageFirst pass on **Skinamarink (2022)** and... it is unique definitely but not sure if it is worth it. Dark backgrounds, lots of still shots, I do like the unique style, but it is visually hard to watch and the reward is not easily understood.
Not recommending nor am I considering another pass. I do want to understand but the process will be tough. Some people did connect with it so not discounting it outright.

Now, I know that watching horror films for fifty years will allow a certain amount of cynicism to creep in.
I cannot, however, help but think that the critics these days don't know the phrase 'nothing new under the sun'.
While watching this, I mostly thought about how restless the audience must have become. It takes 45 min for 𝑎𝑛𝑦𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑔 to happen. There is no true climax. Rather one is left with a feeling of sorrow.
I won't spoil it and I won't say don't see but be warned.
