So, in this setting, Humans all come from the same part of the world, but are from an initial population with a wide variety of skin tones. based bigotry is virtually non-existent among humans, for reasons, and racism-memes are towards other sapient species. (elves, goblins, lizards, etc)

What are some ways I could convey that I intend for characters to have skin without it sounding weird?

Damn these people. So-called "parents' rights" are great for conservatives but no one else. I'm an aging cishet white man, the face of almost everyone's enemy or oppressor, and even *I* can see the rank, self-serving hypocrisy here. I loathe these fucking people.

This is not a . It is a fight for survival. It is marginalized and victimized people of every and and and that aren't, well, old cishet white so-called Christian men, fighting to survive in a system than wants to exterminate them. An injury to one is an injury to all. There's so much more for us to do. We gotta get back out there.

Skin colour affects the accuracy of medical oxygen sensors

COVID-19 highlighted the fact that skin pigmentation alters measurements. Sjoding et al.published a retrospective report showing that pulse oximeters overestimate the true oxygen saturation of Black people. This inaccuracy means that diagnoses of hypoxaemia, the condition of having low levels of oxygen in one’s blood, are ~3X more likely to be missed in Black than in white patients.
