There is a safe way to take a rental car to a customer:

And then there is a dodgy way: a remote driver controls the vehicle from a control centre. What happens if the internet connection goes down? This is being trialled on UK public roads.

When I encouraged my students in a packed classroom to attend every other class via zoom to reduce density during the pandemic, my dean gave me a dressing-down for "insubordination". When I made zoom lectures available to students who couldn't come to class, he ordered me to stop.

Now I have COVID. My dean is my chair. When faced with having to find someone to teach my classes in my absence he said, "no problem, just do zoom classes until you're better."
