Up to date #Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS (GNU/Linux 6.2.0-31-generic x86_64)
#HASS installed from Ubuntu "store."
#SkyConnect Zigbee dongle added. Highly compatible, HASS branded.

HASS sees the dongle, but can't configure it on Ubuntu.

In integrations, choose configure #Zigbee Home Automation. It can't communicate with the USB device, even though the config option see it.

Disappointed to see that #HomeAssistant still has a presence on #xitter

Well my #Matter over #Thread on #HomeAssistant using #SkyConnect isn’t going too well. I don’t think these are suppose to be doing this. Had issues with HomeKit and Alexa too. This stuff needs more time.

@schuelermine they work with any ZigBee coordinator. I have been running those on ZHA for years (without changing battery)

The ongoing saga of getting mailbox notifications into #HomeAssistant continues. I've tried Sonoff and Samsung motion sensors with both the Sonoff and #SkyConnect zigbee bridges. In all combinations, it eventually goes offline at some point and needs to have the battery popped out to reset.

I am experimenting with a #ThirdReality motion sensor. I'm working on the assumption that using 2 AAA batteries gives the radio more juice to cover the ~60 m. So far so good.

Entweder er ist im Ausland nicht lieferbar oder er ist hier lieferbar, kostet aber das Doppelte. What the duck?

Great article talking about Home Assistant and the new SkyConnect (which I am considering for my home, but my Sonoff Zigbee USB adapter is working wonderfully, just without Matter support).

When my WiFi networks started to struggle with all devices connected to Home Assistant, i though to try out zigbee. #skyconnect from #homeassistant was my choice. Currently i must say, setup was easy and range is good enough. I will update when my zigbee network will grow a bit, to compare with WiFi connected devices.

@WinFuture ich habe im August 2022 noch 143 dafür Euro bezahlt. Die haben out of the box auch mit #HomeAssistant #Zigbee #SkyConnect funktioniert. Dann habe ich 6 weitere bestellt, die wurden dann vom Homeassistant nicht mehr als Thermostat erkannt. Die habe dann zurück geschickt.

Finaly got around to rebuild my zigbee network with the #skyconnect dongle. It's so much more responsive, and devices which where sluggish with z2m work properly. I'm a happy camper #homeassistant

@dustinrue @homeassistant My experience is with #ZWave devices that require a Z-Wave USB device. And with the #NodOn Micro Smart Plug, so far I have two and one act weird. The other is fine. But waiting for #Matter devices and a #skyconnect

Habe es endlich geschafft den #HomeAssistant #SkyConnect einzurichten und die Geräte neu anzulernen. Vor ein paar Wochen habe ich bereits einen Versuch gestartet, jedoch konnte ich kein Gerät anlernen.

Stellt sich raus, dass USB3 die Ursache war. Der Sky Connect wird bereit mit einem Verlängerungskabel geliefert, um genau diese Probleme zu vermeiden. Wenn man jedoch eine SSD über USB3 am Pi betreibt, ist das wohl alles noch schwieriger.

Lösung: Längeres USB-Verlängerung-Kabel.

One experiment I am running with the #HomeAssistant #SkyConnect. Previously with the Sonoff #Zigbee stick I would lose my mailbox sensor. First it was one or two days a week. Then I put a Zigbee plug right by the window closest to the mailbox. It went down to maybe once per 15 days.

I'm only 2 days into the SkyConnect. It doesn't have an external antenna the way Sonoff did. Is that plug now my weak link in the network or does the SkyConnect possibly also reach out there?

Yesterday I was feeling it so I migrated from my cheap Sonoff #Zigbee stick to the #HomeAssistant #SkyConnect . I used the directions below although I started on the "Migrate" section because I was already using #ZHA.

It went much smoother than I was expecting. Although the docs tell you that all the entities will be renamed and not work in Automations and Dashboards, that must be only if you come from Zigbee2MQTT. Mine stayed the same and everything **just worked**.

Hey #HomeAssistant friendos with the new SkyConnect ZigBee/Matter dongle - Anyone else notice the LQI values maxing out at around 200?

ZigBee dongles on my other HA installs (HUSBZB-1, ConBee II) all peg out at LQI of 255. But the #SkyConnect, even with a #ZigBee device within 10' is hanging at around 200.

My new toy arrived. #SkyConnect #ZigBee stick for @home_assistant with support for #Matter.
