Last week I posted what I thought was the first photo I’ve ever taken of a #skylark…
However, as I’ve continued post processing my images for that day I found this one that I took hours before the one shared last week.
I’m 90% sure this is also a Skylark so if there’s any experts who’d be able to confirm this that would be great!

This is by no means a great photo but it’s one I was extremely grateful to take!
It shows a #Skylark - a bird that is currently on the red list in the UK - with it’s well-known crest on show.
Minutes before we were treated to it’s spectacular song and dance.
It’s sad that their numbers are in decline and I really hope their numbers improve in the near future!

I was astounded by the number of #Skylark in #Dawlish Country Park - it's a green space just outside the town and VERY busy with people and dogs. The larks were singing, displaying and defending territory. Their song, as always, filled me with good vibes. Let's hope the birds are left alone enough to thrive.

🐦 Skřivani polní jsou vlajkovým druhem evropské zemědělské krajiny. Pokud ubývají, značí to, že krajina má trable. Pokud se jim daří, znamená to, že hospodaříme šetrně s ohledem na obyvatele polí a luk.
⁉️ Jak myslíte, že je to v Evropě? Možnost A je správně. Od roku 1980 přišla Evropa o 59 % skřivanů polních! Ano, krajina má trable a ptáci nám to ukazují naprosto jasně.
