Metro 's network is now the 4th largest subway/metro system in North America by passenger ridership.

This puts the system behind NYC, Montreal, and Toronto, but ahead of other stories metro systems in DC, Chicago, and Boston.

TransLink is releasing the first photos and videos of the new Mark V SkyTrain cars, which have entered their testing phase at a facility in Kingston, Ontario.

Functional performance testing at the Alstom facility will include testing the brakes, power systems, doors, and car connectivity, as well as propulsion and automatic running on rails to simulate real-life operations.

Expo Line track maintenance in Surrey completes ahead of schedule

UPDATE (July 22, 2023): Regular service has now resumed on the Expo Line. SkyTrain track maintenance that commenced on June 17 finished this morning, nine days ahead of schedule.

On one hand, we can build rapid transit with great waiting areas with protection from the elements and all door boarding.

On the other hand, we put two benches on a sidewalk and call it a bus stop, that has 30 min headways.

These places are next to each other.

The Vancouver's at 9h15, quite empty, vs at 8h15 sufficiently full. For those of you outside of , the greater Vancouver area is a 2 million people metro area, formed by 8~10 municipalities, Vancouver being the one whose downtown is where a lot of the offices are, so us living in other municipality need to take the to get into downtown.

@LunaDragofelis Barrier-Free Minimuses are a good option to provide public transport in medium-to-low density areas like suburbia without a lot of infrastructure or huge masses of commuters...

That being said even overhead monorails can be useful when done properly like the in Düsseldorf or Chiba's SAFEGE system...

It's definitely cheaper than underground metro stations and removes congestion from roads.

So many Canadian cities cluster weather information and ads and whatever else on there.

Rushing down on to the platform on the or subway to catch a dwelling train (which is often because on both systems frequency is incredible) the sign is unreadable
