Australian indie pop musician Ben Lee releases his first solo album, “Grandpa Would”

I loved his previous band, Noise Addict (14yo kids singing indie pop/rock), so I knew I’d like the vocals on this new solo album.

It’s a much more stripped down sound, mostly just Lee and his guitar. But it’s chill and fun. 18 tracks of pure gooey pop and trademark simple but engaging lyrics about the usual teenage concerns, as well as more silly upbeat songs.

His sound matured, as did his voice, over the coming albums and I got away from him and really only listen now to this album and the Noise Addict stuff.

Tracey Denim is the third album by bar italia, released on May 19, 2023 via Matador. The trio based in London is made up of Nina Cristante (Italian emigrated to Great Britain), Jezmi Fehmi and Samuel Fenton.
