#GreatAlbums1990s - #PaleSaints – #SlowBuilding (1994). Fine third album by this unjustly ignored Leeds group – early shoegazers not afraid to blend a heavier rock/ pop approach with the longer excursions. “Angel” and “Under Your Nose” keep the tempo brisk, while the long and haunting “Henry” gives us ten beautiful minutes of ethereal darkness. A few more easy hooks and this could have scored big in Breeders/ Smashing Pumpkins territory.
