@impactology @fibrearts If you had a pattern, you could do it now! Just start with a toile (a practice version done in cheaper fabric but if it turned out okay you could wear it). Then do a second version in your preferred fabric (just aim for approximately the same weight of fabric). This is totally within your reach! A machine is not needed but it will make it faster, although #SlowSewing & #SlowFashion are beautiful meditative practices!

First project for the #FallFinishAlong - #knitting on a summer top made from pure linen.

It's very fine yarn, worked with 2.5 mm needles. But I'm rather close, the divide for the armholes is done and I'm close to the front neck line. Then the back and closing the shoulders.

As we're getting another week of summer weather I'm motivated to finish so I can wear it at least once this year.

I can't believe I completely forgot about one of my WIPs

Ages ago I'd cast on the Crowdigan. Right when I was very first learning colorwork. I'm thinking of frogging it to start over, as my skills have greatly increased since then. I also might do more intarsia style on the back to avoid a lot of floats in the design. So many skeins though. But so worth it at the end.

The divine ‘Lighting the Way’ is made from made from melted down tea light candles collected from churches in Moate, Mount Temple and Achill Island.

The fiber festival I'm going to next month is only enforcing masks for the few hours on Friday night that's the only time I can go.

Still, I'm super excited to even have that.

However because of that I am researching all the vendors beforehand to see who might have yarn for the Joni top I want to make next.

Hello #slowFashion and #mending mastodon friends.

I have a cream canvas tote bag that I loved-to-yellow over 15 years ago that I've dug out of a box and am attempting to resurrect.

So far I've (1) soaked it with a bit of dr bronner's and (2) sprayed it with a general stain remover then put it on a handwash cycle. It's much better but the worst spots (mostly the handles and top edge) are still not very nice.

Any tips on what to pick up to remove what is probably two years of teenage sweat?

Bei mir steht heute #kleidungreparieren an. Sieht danach nicht unbedingt gut aus und ich mache es auch nicht gerne, aber ich finde es wichtig. Schwer tue ich mich damit, bei formalen Terminen mit offensichtlich reparierten Klamotten zu erscheinen. #reparieren #slowfashion #nochlängergut Und möchte noch nörgelnd anmerken, dass die Klamotten aus #modal oder #Lycocell richtig schnell kaputt gehen. #klamottenprobleme

@NatureMC #SlowFashion is part of #Sustainability. If you can't repair clothes anymore, you can use it for gardening or something like that, and after that you can use it as a cleaning cloth, etc.

I fucked up the WS rows of this section when I picked up the front again.

I forgot that the chart switches and I need to read back and forth not all the same direction. I can't decide if I can get away with it, or if I should rip back.

It's the top 8 rows, and only the purled rows.

Maybe the yarn is busy enough that this smol oopsie won't be TOO obvious even when blocked?
