Currently watching Slow Horses where Gary Oldman and Kristin Scott Thomas lead a brilliant ensemble cast.

It's excellent TV - some of the best I've seen in the last couple of years. The characters are almost universally dysfunctional (Oldman's disreputable Jackson Lamb is an exquisite delight).

If you've not watched the #AppleTV series #SlowHorses, you're missing a treat - just started second series which is even better than the first....

The slow horses (MI5 rejects) led by their sleazy legendary ex-agent boss (Gary Oldman) are 'f**king useless', until they aren't.

Great stuff, livened with a wry humour course of Morwena Banks' contributions to the production.

Slow Horses 2x06: "Old Scores": I like how there were still some solid twists and turns in the final episode of the season. The story was still relatively straightforward, but it did recontextualize a few things from the earlier episodes. I liked this season much more than the first, which gives me hope that they can raise the bar even more with the third season! #slowhorses

So, I skipped to the last episode of #Silo on #AppleTVPlus and yeah, it was not very surprising. Did not like the show that much, will not watch series 2 when it eventually appears. So sue me. Tastes differ, deal with it.

#SlowHorses, on the other hand, is excellent. Started watching series 2. Enjoying every minute.

Slow Horses 2x05: "Boardroom Politics": I really enjoy how this season is coming together, because all of the agents at Slough House are getting a spotlight in this story. It's maybe a little surprising that River wasn't killed, especially after Min's incident, but I'll allow it when the episode was otherwise drenched in tension. I'm very tempted to add these books to my ever-growing list. #slowhorses

@HeathAllyn #slowhorses was phenomenal. I’m getting into #silo as well and so far I’m loving it.

Slow Horses 2x04: "Cicada": As one would expect, the threads are really starting to come together now as we move into the second half of the season. I always assumed that Min's death was far from accidental, so it's good to see how thay propels Lamb in this episode. But the web is a tangled weave indeed. It's going to be interesting to see how they get out of this situation without all the blame and a pile of additional casualties. #slowhorses

Slow Horses 2x03: "Drinking Games": I like the measured pace of this season. I feel like I'm seeing more of the team's actual skills on display, including (and perhaps especially) Lamb's. I'm not sure I'm picking up on everything that is happening, especially since I am taking a bit of time between episodes these days. But this one starts with a punch to the gut which gives the rest of the action a tension that lingers to the very end. #slowhorses

Really impressed by the first episode of Rain Dogs, a British comedy-drama series produced by Cash Carraway. Sharp writing & great acting with a dark & original point of view. Best thing I've seen since #slowhorses.

Slow Horses 2x02: "From Upshott with Love": A bit more clarification on just what the "cicadas" are, but it definitely feels like we've moved out of the introductory portion of the season, especially given how the episode ends. I still submit that this season is easier to follow now that we actually know the characters better. And Gary Oldman continues to be my favorite part of the series. I think I say that every time I comment on an episode, though! #slowhorses

I just read that "Slow Horses," a series on Apple+ is shooting seasons 3 & 4 back to back. This makes me happy. If you like wise-ass dialogue, action, suspense, mystery and humor, then you might like this series about the special department of the British Security Service. Led by a washed-up(?) cold warrior, the role of this special unit is to employ people it would be too much bother to fire. I loved the first season so much that I went out and read all the books by Mick Herron. It stars Gary Oldman as the cold warrior and Kristen Scott Thomas as the head of MI5. I'm so glad they're going to keep this show going. #SlowHorses #MickHerron
