Two days in a row cyclists had to stop and slow down cut through drivers at Page & Shrader. Both drivers were turning west onto Page at a high rate of speed.
The driver today didn't stop at the stop sign and would have run me over if I didn't get out of the way.
We need hardened infrastructure bc motorists will drive recklessly with no regard for others. Page is a MTA board approved #SlowStreet I might add. cc @pageslowstreet @sfmta_muni @JeffreyTumlin @transpocrat
So, uhn—what? Pacific is no longer a #SlowStreet #SanFrancisco - that’s really rotten. It was safer. Now, with no notice — all the slow streets signs are gone - really rotten
"When I walked on a #SlowStreet, I saw things I thought I’d never see in a city with a #traffic violence problem as bad as Oakland’s. 15 elementary aged children riding on bicycles; seniors doing a morning walk in the middle of the street; disabled folks in wheelchairs strolling alongside parents pushing strollers. Many cities followed #Oakland and shut down neighborhood streets. #SanFrancisco went as far as shutting down a highway, which activists are now fighting to keep shut down."

The Andy Goldsworthy #slowstreet treatment in the Presidio. We need MTA to *prioritize* hardened slow street infra. The Federal / NPS FD approved these designs and so should SFFD on city streets. What makes SFFD so special? (Local 798 cough cough) #activemobility cc @sfmta_muni @slowlakestreet @LukeBornheimer
My sneaky favorite #SlowStreet is CabriSlow aka Cabrillo. Granted it needs to be extended to Arguello but there were so many people out in the street late today. 💚 #activemobility #activetranspo

Detailed list of #SlowStreet rules newly posted on @slowlakestreet but I find the thru car drivers who are menacing walkers & cyclists in absence of any hard diversion don’t read them from inside their cars! @JeffreyTumlin @SFMTA_Muni
Some of the kids who utilize the neighborhood #slowstreet call me ladywhoyellsatcars as though it is my name.
I like it and might change my handle. Super proud of myself.
On my way to p/u some leftover @slowlakestreet hoodies. The first driver who passed me on Lake drove from Park Presidio to 3rd Ave, while the second driver rolled down their window to tell me to "bike in the bike path". When I told them it was a #SlowStreet they said they were "driving slow" as they continued up multiple blocks. (we've got work to do said capt obvious) Sigh...

Very exciting to see our Telraam devices for traffic counting, making a difference to #citizenscience and #localengagement between residents and transport authorities in #SanFrancisco #SlowStreet

#SlowStreet Looking forward to seeing this space grow and in hearing a wide range of opinions.
Is there anyone from the #SanFrancisco #SlowStreet movement on here to talk to? I'm very interested to learn more.
Telraam data has been cited a lot recently and am keen to understand the context.
(would appreciate boosts for reach all the way to the Pacific)
#SlowLake was finally added to the codified #slowstreet list that reflects the MTAB 12/6 vote. Hopefully they add the permanent purple treatment on Monday or Tuesday. 💫 https://www.sfmta.com/maps/slow-streets-program-network-december-2022
A lil #slowstreet art (wip) inspired by how such a simple step in the right direction to decarbonizing our cities can offer the 40% of folks in SF who either cannot afford or do not wish to own a car. By providing safe, low traffic streets that connect car free stretches we are inching closer to a network of alternative spaces capable of getting people out of cars, the top source of pollution in California. @pageslowstreet #carfreetooter #biketooter #WalkTooter #urbanisttooter

#KillerStreets Vs: The fact that Lake Street’s #SlowStreet is under threat at all is troubling. The agency’s board already approved a plan to make it permanent last year. If it only takes a few unhappy neighbors to unravel a decision that’s already been made, what does that say about the future of any of our #SafeStreet improvements? https://www.sfchronicle.com/opinion/editorials/article/SF-slow-streets-traffic-17627177.php

I think today I will check out Chenery Street while it's still a #slowStreet. I haven't been to Glen Park in a while, one of my favourite parks. Also haven't been to Excelsior Coffee in a while.
There's no great way for me to bike there but the 44 comes every 10 min. It is however a 40 minute bus ride. I think that we should have some kind of 44 express bus that does the major transit connections and also the parks.
Bike Route 69 runs through the Richmond. I'm only familiar with 75, which runs along my fav #SlowStreet & Neighborway 23rd Ave. Yes, I was once mayor but had to pass the baton.
