@clairemiller 100% in #auspol. But we prob have a more complex system than you. Some (after a decade on a waiting list, or a day as an Aboriginal or immigrant) will get free housing or at such a low cost they won't need/qualify for Rent Assist.
Everyone else (Unemployed, single parents, disabled & age pensioners) gets at most $75/wk top-up for a $600/wk rent (all that's available now). A rate which was $40 40 years ago lol.
Bringing in 100Ks of migrants per year!
