This #sluto #mural in #raleigh #northcarolina is notable because it doesn’t have to same level of conceptualism or imagery that a lot of his work does. Usually the #murals are more conceptual and playful than the #mosaics but this one seems to be experimental (or maybe early). I think it’s still important because an experiment that doesn’t work isn’t a failure, it’s just learning a way that something shouldn’t be done.

I snapped a photo of this buffed SLUTO mermaid in Raleigh, NC this weekend downtown near the train tracks. I love it because even though it’s been painted over, you can still tell exactly what it is all the way down to the detail in the mirror. It’s almost like the artist made the buffer an unwilling part of a monochrome piece.
