Five-year old gerbil

Gerbils must be kept in pairs or in a group. Unfortunately, his partner passed away a few months ago after living together for more than four years and a half 😢

Gerbil’s lifespan is 3-4 years in captivity. Both gerbils were well-beyond their lifespan, so, we decided not to introduce another gerbil 🤔

Although he is slower and sleeps longer than before, he still got energy, destroying any paperboard to make his own bedding 😊

I would add ,for anyone with outdoor pets ,maybe cover #Chicken #smallAnimal hutches and coops with a lightweight blanket and / or a foil emergency blanket to give them a bit of a hand and prevent you having to defrost their coops locks and doors in the morning
