Early morning is my favorite time to be on the water. This picture was taken a few years ago on the upper Potomac River. The flat water before the break can hold smallmouths when they are in feeding mode. Looking forward to spring and chasing smallies again.

In late summer and early fall l like to wet wade the Upper Potomac. This trip I decided to only bring my 6wt to practice casting bigger flies. Lots of bad casts that day, but the smallies were in a forgiving mood.
