There’s an old bloke I’ve passed/met so many times out walking locally that we greet each other now and sometimes stop for a chat. I walked a few miles away today and bumped into him! He was so surprised and pleased to see me, which made me glad to have met him. We had a lovely chat about the area (where I grew up) he was interested in my local knowledge and other walks there he didn’t know about.
I still don’t know his name, will ask next time 😁

One of the joys of #SmallTownLife: two days ago, a huge tree limb plummeted down, piercing our roof and bursting through the guest room ceiling. One call to a friend connected us with "his guy," who showed up with two others. Limb removed, roof patched and shingled, ceiling replastered and painted ... oh, and two faucets replaced ... oh, why not also touch up paint on the high-rise ceiling in the den while we're at it?

In less than four hours. For $300.

Umm. Okay. I need someone to esplain this to me. WTF..??!! It was in the jail section of our local news. Is there a miracle happening I should know about??

Happy #Saturday folks! Last night I went to the town square #holiday lights event where I live and I wanted to share a few pics that highlight why I love living in a small town. A couple of things to note: 1) It was about 20 degrees outside; 2) The fires in the street are not the results of a riot but the local fire department setting them up; 3) and yes, as soon as the central gazebo was lit up and it was announced that #Santa was ready to give out free cookies down on main street, everyone went there and left the lighting controls and PA systems unattended and unlocked...but nobody messed with it at all. Welcome to my town. :)
